Scouts
The Scout Movement is a worldwide, voluntary, non-political, educational youth movement. The aim of the Scout Movement is to promote the development of young people in the achievement of their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual potential as individuals, responsible citizens, and members of local, national, and international communities. The movement uses the Scout method: a program of non-formal education with an emphasis on practical outdoor activities, including the acquisition of bushcraft skills, hiking, canoeing, sports, etc.
Pioneers or Scouts? What’s the difference?
You’ve probably been asked at some point: what’s the difference between Scouts and Pioneers (I’ve certainly been asked many times). The answer is both simple and complex. They differ in essence, in methodology. In international pedagogy, this is called the “Scout Method” (an unusual name for Russian pedagogy). What does the Scout Method include? The Scout Method is an informal educational system used in the Scout Movement. One of the main goals of Scouting is character development, helping participants become independent, productive, healthy, happy, and proactive citizens of their country.
